The Giraldo sibling grew up in the world of coffee. After years of traveling and living abroad, in 2006 three of them, returned to their homeland, a zone known by the name of “Eje del café” (coffee axle). They came with the purpose of continue their passion in the coffee industry.
An entire life around coffee
Applying and combining traditional ways of cultivating and selecting the beans, with contemporary trends of roasting and coffee tasting; Jorge, Luis and Liliana Giraldo founded the “Aroma de Colombia” coffee factory. The small roasting plant was located in the Quindío capital with the goal of offering the most selected coffee beans by selecting and roasting the finest coffee in the region. They began by applying their own roasting techniques to the different coffees found at the closest regions.
OUR FIRST PRESENTATIONS
Since then, they have dedicated their time to finding specialty coffee at small farms, verederas and haciendas in all the Colombian coffee producing regions, obtaining a wide variety of colorful and exotic types of coffee beans specialties roasted individually and packed according to its origin.
After culminating this chapter of their lives, in 2012, the Giraldos decided to use their knowledge and experience in the coffee industry to establish a new company geared towards counseling, training, logistics and exportation, where they offer consultations in all areas of coffee.
These services have also opened the doors to launch on national and international market unique coffees, branded “Green Nature Coffee”. This brand is the result of years of evaluation in the ways coffee is consumed locally and worldwide. At the same time, they decided to seek and classify micro-lots with unique profiles from the crop, to offer to consumers of the final drink, offering them the opportunity to know and evaluate for themselves a specialty coffee, Green Nature consumers will have the privilege of tasting the highest standards of quality of the entire Colombian geography, conserving their origin and maintaining a chain of custody that guarantees the traceability from the beans to the cup.
For this, they work hand to hand with coffee growers that show the care and protection for their environment by applying principles that maintain a sustainable agriculture that is nature friendly.
Behind is left the memories of Jorge making deliveries riding his bike when he was just a child and the dips into the piles that Luis saw as a coffee pool.
Today with offices in Colombia and the United States, the Giraldos are always ready to discuss the coffee industry as their favorite subject. Liliana is always ready to take care and guide with professionalism anyone with questions regarding the complexity of the coffee industry.
In front their new company Coffee Connections, the Giraldo siblings can be found at any coffee trade event. Perhaps they could be educating a client in front of a coffee brewing machine or simply tasting and having a conversation regarding this great product that has been achieved with great effort and dedication of many: A cup of coffee.
