Don Pedro Nel Trujillo went to live in Oparapa Huila since he was a child and when there were not roads, and they had to cross Magdalena River in canoes. He didn’t have the opportunity to study, but described himself as a good farmer; profession he learned from his father, planting typical varietals first and then caturra.
He works with his wife and 6 children who derive their living from what they produce with their work as coffee growers. Lives grateful and loves this product, so on his farm El Jardin located at 1760 meters above sea level, they cultivate different varieties and take care of the land considering future generations, giving an environment friendly treatment. He hopes that the quality of their coffee appeals to consumers in other countries and thus can get better money for their work and give a better life to his family.
With all their dedication and effort in their crops and coffee benefit process, they have developed a unique cup profile for their coffee: The fragrance of fresh butter and sweet scent of sugar cane, get mixed with the medium acidity. The creamy body complements the intense lasting aftertaste.
