Edgar Muñoz tells his own story: “I am a native of the department of Huila, born and raised in the town of Palestine, I study only up to 5 grade of elementary in Pitalito and the rest of my adolescence, I lived in my father’s coffee farm.
Circumstances of life took me out to other departments to seek new horizons and other activities that did not lead me to anything good, I decided to return to the cultivation of coffee, but I saw in other regions how coffee growers suffered with rust and coffee diseases, and that was when I found tabi as the only variety that provided strong crops.
In 2010 I bought the farm Buenos Aires.10 hectares located in the biological corridor and National Park (Cueva de los Guacharos). I have 1.5 hectare native forest and a creek; 1,900 coffee trees (tabi variety) above 2,000 meters of altitude. I support myself and my family with the results of these trees. I also have my home garden with onions , cabbage , beans , tomato, cilantro , I have a little cassava, banana, peach , corn and fruits like lemon , blackberry , and also I have a little yard for a milking cow. I live with my wife and 3 children.
This is my story. With the training that I and my family are receiving, we want to make things better every day. ”
